The month of November is a time we dedicate to the olive harvest.

In the local landscape, songs and traditions intertwine — restoring within us the hope for genuine, human peace all around us.

This month, we built beautifully decorated Sukkah (A pavilion) inspired by the Ushpizin tradition — open to all who enter. Alongside these temporary shelters, we continue to develop lasting spaces that will nurture a vibrant program of educational and cultural activities.

As we begin the 16th year of The Orchard of Abraham’s Children in our educational frameworks and community center in Jaffa, we are glad to share with you an interview with Ora and Ihab – the co-directors of the organization.

This past year was full of immense challenges—sirens, shelters, uncertainty, tension, and an ongoing war with painful consequences. Amidst it all, we’ve held onto our belief in the path we’ve chosen: to remind ourselves and the world that peace is not just a dream, but a living, daily goal.

In times like these, when words fall short, consistency, care, and genuine human connection make all the difference.

Inspired by anthroposophy, we recognized a shared calling: a journey from law to love, from ego to sacrifice, from separation to unity. 

As the Orchard community, we strive to create a healing space for the intergenerational traumas of both israeli and palestinian communities.
